Ancillary services

Insurance Services

This dynamic purchasing system (DPS) offers access to insurers both directly and through brokers (who can also be procured using a separate agreement which includes risk management and claims handling services). All of our approved insurers are Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) registered with vast experience of working with public sector organisations.

Leasing and Loan Finance DPS

This DPS acts as a funding platform allowing customers to secure competitively tendered finance through a fully transparent and compliant route. The solution allows public bodies to own and control assets and can be used to independently finance or supplement grant funding for waste management projects.

Management Consultancy

Access suppliers across a range of disciplines with two particularly relevant lots focused on:

  • infrastructure and transport 
  • environment, sustainability and socio-economic development

Suppliers offer competitive market rates and a range of pricing models including time and materials, fixed price or risk and reward. You can get support to undertake specialist activity associated with the operation of waste management services, such as environmental impact assessments, demographic/demand forecasting and traffic/transport modelling.

Temporary and Fixed Term Staff

Our Public Sector Resourcing solution is an end-to-end service managed by a single supplier, supported by a supply chain of over 300 specialist recruitment agencies. Local authorities can use it to find contractors and temporary workers, enabling hiring managers to access high quality staff to meet volume and specialist needs.

Total fleet solutions

Fuel

Our National Fuels agreement provides bulk supply of liquid fuels to all public sector customers with their fleet of waste trucks. This also includes all products and services connected to using fuels, such as tank maintenance.

Fuel Cards

Our Fuel Cards agreement can offer public sector organisations reduced fees and charges compared to market prices, savings on fuel reflected in a reduction (pence per litre) off pump price, helping fleet managers to control costs.

It can also be used to buy fuel in bulk for storage at a designated site(s), no minimum fleet size is needed and our suppliers can even help you to map out regular driving routes to see where you can achieve the best prices or discounts.

Transport Technology and Associated Services

This agreement provides access to transport related technology such as CCTV, Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), parking and lighting solutions and electric vehicle charging solutions. 

You can also access consultancy and sustainability solutions to achieve other Carbon Net Zero initiatives.

Tyres, Glass and Fast Fit Solutions

Access discounted prices from industry-leading suppliers on your waste management fleet maintenance, such as:

  • supply and fit of tyres 
  • repair and replace of glass 
  • MOTs, diagnostics and repairs

All suppliers are signed up to the Driving for Better Business programme.

Vehicle Charging and Infrastructure Solutions

This agreement offers access to products and services that support vehicle charging infrastructure. You can buy a full end-to-end solution or specific elements, including consultancy and feasibility studies, all supporting the transition to low emission vehicles.

Purchase (and conversion) of Standard and Specialist Vehicles

This agreement can be used to buy (lots 1 to 5) or for the conversion (lots 6 to 10) of standard and specialist vehicles.  Lot 6 is specifically for refuse collection and waste management vehicles including rear loaders, side loaders and front loaders.

The agreement also provides access to commercial vehicles, including HGVs, and zero and low-emission options.

Vehicle Hire

This agreement will provide you access to discounted rates for the hiring of vehicles of all sizes and types to meet your waste management needs, the agreement includes a specialist lot (lot 3) for HGVs from 7.5 tonnes and above and consists of the use of refuse vehicles.

Vehicle Lease, Fleet Management and Salary Sacrifice Car Schemes

This agreement provides leasing for single or multiple vehicles of all types and sizes, including two dedicated lots for commercial, specialist and municipal vehicles to meet your waste management needs. 

In addition, suppliers on this agreement can provide fleet management services if required. 

Customers using this framework agreement will also benefit from the vehicle manufacturer discounts secured through our vehicle purchase agreement.

Access to a range of hardware and software which can analyse vehicle usage, monitor driver behaviour and improve efficiency. Investment in these technology solutions can provide long-term and sustained cost-savings in fleet management and maintenance.
