Our people networks

Our 8-staff led networks

This page describes the 8 staff-led networks we have at Crown Commercial Service (CCS).

Our networks support the Civil Service’s ambition to be the most inclusive employer in the UK and focus on championing the views of employees at all levels, helping ensure everybody feels comfortable at work.

Our 8 people networks

Carers network

We make sure that the challenges and work-related issues carers face are an ongoing and open topic of conversation, supporting colleagues to be the best they can be in work and at home. Our priority is to encourage people to talk about caring, to be clear about the support and help available and equip managers with the tools to help those who need it

Gender equality network

We make sure that gender equality issues are visible and aim to create an open, inclusive and progressive dialogue around issues that may impact this.

Able (disability network)

We provide a support network and guidance to colleagues with disabilities. We also lead on raising awareness of disabilities, driving positive change and tackling mistaken perceptions of disabilities. Our aim is to encourage greater openness and generate confidence in talking openly and honestly amongst colleagues about their conditions.

Pride (LGBTQ+ network)

We work hard to influence CCS policy regarding issues relevant to Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans Queer plus (LGBTQ+) colleagues, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues across the organisation, and act as a support network for LGBTQ+ colleagues in CCS.

Faith and belief network

We promote the understanding of, and respect for, the faiths and beliefs of others. We help CCS colleagues to work more effectively with each other and the communities we serve, on the basis of that shared understanding and respect.

Social mobility network

We aim to influence CCS policy to address social and regional inequality within our organisation. We also welcome allies from all socio-economic backgrounds who are interested in exploring what social mobility means in 21st century Britain.

Uniformed services network

We aim to support all CCS staff who are current or former members of the uniformed services and those who have family members within the uniformed services and related roles.

Race equality network

We make sure that racial equality issues are visible, and aim to create an open, inclusive and progressive dialogue around issues that may impact on racial equality in the workplace.
